Catherine Vézina, Project Manager at Audet & Knight
What led you to work at Audet & Knight as a project manager?
It was during my first internship in Civil Engineering Techniques that I started my career at Audet & Knight. I have submitted my application 4 times before being chosen. To follow up on my experience, I then decided to go back the next 2 summers, still as an intern. With all the responsibilities I was given during my last summer in 2011, I decided to stay at Audet & Knight as a project manager.
What are your main responsibilities?
I am responsible for everything related to commercial foundations and concrete. I do the quotations; I’m involved in the design and engineering. I am also responsible for project management and team management.
What do you like best about your job?
The fact that I am always busy. I face challenges every day and I must find solutions promptly. I like the challenge of always having to do more and better with a shorter amount of time.
Tell us about a project you are particularly proud of?
The Passerelle Agnès-Dumulon, located in the heart of downtown Rouyn-Noranda, is the first civil engineering project in which I was actively involved, and which did not really concern the commercial sector.
What do you do in your spare time?
I really enjoy spending time outdoors with my family.
